As Senior Project Manager you will ensuring the timely delivery of a variety of projects ranging from R&D through to recurring products within the digital communication team.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include
* Ensuring delivery of internal and external projects in line with the contractual objectives.
* Managing multidisciplinary teams to deliver end-to-end project milestones and goals
* Ensuring suitable standards, processes and controls are followed across all phases of the projects from conceptualization through completion.
* Managing and agreeing work-packages to ensure all mission, system, subsystem (hardware, software, firmware, ground support equipment) and services needs are delivered with customer satisfaction in mind.
* Risk, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies capture & management
* Liaising with various teams – technical, production, validation, quality; to co-ordinate and de-risk schedules
* Contributing to the development of new business opportunities and expansion of existing business opportunities in the space community.
* Be comfortable to work across multiple projects for multiple customers.
* Supporting the preparation of proposals, proposal work statements and specifications and operating budgets.
Experience required
* Be educated to BSc level or equivalent in engineering discipline
* Previous experience managing technical projects with the space industry
* Good experience with project lifecycle from bid through execution and close down
* Good understanding of MS Project or other scheduling tools
* Be able and willing to travel as required
* Able to communicate complex issues clearly to various audiences with technical & non-technical backgrounds
* Managing and Reporting on Project Budget and Resources to senior management
* Defining, mitigating and managing project risks
* Familiarity with communications payload technologies
* Familiarity with international standards, ECSS, etc.
