Mentoring Coordinator
Location: Peckham, London (covering London with occasional travel across the Devon/Dorset region and nationally)
Salary: £26,775 per annum
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

The client is a pioneering national charity that provides support to individuals with criminal convictions and their families. Our work encompasses criminal justice, child and family welfare, mental health, and social care. We emphasise person-centred, trauma-informed, and restorative approaches, aiming to help individuals reintegrate and lead positive lives.
Purpose of the Role:
The Mentoring Coordinator will be part of a community mentoring service funded by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC). The service is designed to support male service users on community sentences, focusing on reducing re-offending through personal development and practical assistance.
Key Responsibilities:

Case Management:
Assist individuals on community sentences with reintegration.
Develop personalised action plans with service users.
Conduct at least five sessions per user, addressing various needs.
Deliver one-to-one sessions to build resilience and stress management skills.
Work with probation practitioners to monitor progress and successes.
Volunteer and Peer Support Mentoring:
Recruit, train, and support volunteer mentors.
Provide supervision and ensure volunteer engagement.
Contribute to risk management and maintain digital records.
Partnership Working:
Collaborate with the National Probation Service and other local agencies.
Refer users to additional services as needed and monitor their progress.
Participate in multi-agency and panel meetings.
Administration and Reporting:
Collect and monitor session reports for performance evaluation.
Maintain accurate case records and assist with volunteer recruitment.
Engage in service promotion and planning.Must Haves:

Experience with individuals having multiple or complex needs, and proven outcomes for service users.
Ability to involve service users in service design and delivery.
Knowledge of safeguarding practices for children and vulnerable adults.
Understanding of the criminal justice system's impact on well-being.
Strong interpersonal, advocacy, and motivational skills.
Ability to build professional relationships and work as part of a team.
High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and prioritisation ability.
Openness to learning and feedback, with good IT skills.
Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and confidentiality.Desirable:

Experience in volunteer recruitment, training, and support.
Experience in multi-agency environments and partnership development.
Group service delivery experience.
Adult training qualification (e.g., Level 3 in Adult Education and Training, PGCE).
Experience in managing risk issues.Personal Qualities:
