Progress Teachers are currently working with a lovely Castle Donington School to appoint an passionate and enthusiastic Teacher of English. The successful candidate will champion the learning of English Literature and Language, planning and delivering inspiring lessons that will support pupils in KS3 & KS4 to make positive progress.

The successful candidate will be employed from January, until the start of the Easter Holidays. There is also the potential for the role to be extended until the Summer Holidays if the chosen candidate has a positive impact during their time at the school.

Responsibilities:

* Plan and deliver engaging and impactful lessons for students across KS3 and KS4 based on the School's schemes of learning and national curriculum guidlines.

* Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking for all, adapting approaches as necessary to the needs of individual pupils.

* Regularly monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments. Plan and provide meaningful and targeted feedback based on student responses to support their learning journey.

* Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement effective teaching strategies and resources that will maximise progress for all students.

* Participate in school events, lunch/breaktime duties, parent evenings, and professional development activities as required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

* Teaching Qualifications: A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE with QTS, or equivalent) with a focus on English Literature / Language is highly advantageous, but experienced unqualified teachers will also be considered.

* Subject Knowledge: A degree in English Literature or a related field, with a strong understanding of KS4 exam board specifications and a passion for the subject.

* Teaching Experience: Proven experience as a Secondary English teacher with a successful track record of student achievement. Experience of teaching GCSE English (KS4) is highly advantageous.

* Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.

* Commitment to Inclusion: A commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment that caters to the needs of all students.

* A DBS on the Update Service or Willingness to obtain.

* 2x Satisfactory References.
