Purchase Ledger / Finance Assistant – Peterborough

Up to £25k dependant on experience

We are looking to fill our vacancy for a finance assistant, primarily focused on purchase ledger transactions. Sitting within the accounting team in our group finance office in modern offices in Fengate, Peterborough, you will be an integral part of the day-to-day transactional activity. Our business delivers domiciliary care, largely for Local Authority clients, across 38 branches around the UK. The finance team focuses on looking after the rest of the business, so the rest of the business can look after our clients.

Your daily duties are likely to include:

* Posting purchase invoices to Sage 200 (full training can be provided)

* Assisting remote branches to raise purchase orders

* Keep the purchase order logs up to date

* Dealing with payment and receipts for petty cash

* Preparing the weekly payment run with the support of our Management Accountant.

* Speaking with suppliers, obtaining statements to ensure our record keeping is correct.

* Maintain pre-payment records and postings

* Varied duties to assist the other members of the finance team

If you have no previous experience in an accounting environment, you will not be ruled out. All you need is an interest in working in a finance environment, have a good work ethic, be willing to be an active member of the team and ‘roll up your sleeves’ with the rest of us when the business needs it
