About the role:

We are seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialization in SEMH to join our team in Hackney from September 2024. This position is a new addition to our team, designed to support our diverse and inclusive environment.

The role involves working with students who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, providing targeted support in small groups and one-on-one settings. Candidates will engage in a multi-stage recruitment process, including a face-to-face interview and participation in an observation session.

Application Requirements:

• Relevant Experience: Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs in a school setting.

• Qualifications: Relevant teaching assistant qualifications or equivalent experience preferred.

• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

• Availability: Must be available to start in September 2024 and commit to a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Students: Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to manage their emotions and behavior effectively.

• Collaborate with Teachers: Work closely with teachers to plan and deliver individualized interventions and support strategies for students in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

• Monitor Progress: Track and document students’ progress, adjusting support strategies as needed to ensure each child’s needs are met.

• Engage with Parents: Build strong relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on students’ progress and collaborating on strategies for improvement.

• Promote Inclusion: Foster an inclusive classroom environment, encouraging positive social interactions and ensuring that all students feel valued and supported.
