The Role:

So, what will you be doing as a Systems Engineering Manager?

Lead and Mentor: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of System Engineers, effectively managing their work allocation.
Ensure Compliance and Improvement: Meet project and statutory requirements while continuously enhancing the systems design function within the company.
Develop Tools and Processes: Advance systems engineering tools, processes, and capabilities to support current and future programs.
Solve Complex Problems: Develop technical solutions to large and complex engineering challenges, following Systems Engineering processes to satisfy customer requirements.
Create Systems Engineering Artifacts: Produce necessary artifacts throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure successful project outcomes.
Deliver High-Quality Work: Oversee the design, development, and delivery of Systems Engineering artifacts for multiple projects to maintain high-quality deliverables.
Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with system, hardware, and software teams to ensure consistency, modularity, reusability, and technical excellence.
Coordinate Reviews: Plan, coordinate, and present at internal and external design reviews for senior management and customers, ensuring successful outcomes.
Balance Requirements, Schedule, and Cost: Lead aspects of the project to achieve the best balance between requirements, schedule, and cost.
Manage External Relationships: Engage with customers and external suppliers to ensure compliance with agreed processes and the achievement of project objectives.
Generate Proposals: Create and review technical proposals, providing accurate estimates for effort, costs, and risks, to secure contract awards.What are we looking for in our next Systems Engineering Manager?

Proven experience in applying the Systems Engineering discipline to complex engineering programs, ensuring project success.
Skilled in developing high-quality requirements and establishing a fully compliant systems design.
Expertise in writing and formally reviewing high-quality technical documentation.
Familiarity with JAMA and experience in hardware, software, or firmware development, especially in embedded environments.
Degree in an engineering, mathematical or science-based subject or equivalent experience.
Previous experience in the defence industry delivering complex platforms/systems is a plus.This really is a fantastic opportunity for a Systems Engineering Manager to progress their career.
