Clearfield Recruitment have partnered with a leading name in the Construction industry, known for delivering high-quality projects across various sectors. We are currently seeking a skilled Assistant Estimator to join the team and contribute to the success of their projects which range from £1 million to £15 million.
The Role:
As an Assistant Estimator, you will play a vital role in supporting the estimation process for the design and build projects. You will work closely with the senior estimating team to prepare accurate cost estimates, helping to ensure bids are competitive and commercially viable. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Cost Estimation: Assisting in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for projects ranging from £1 million to £15 million, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
* Tender Preparation: Supporting the preparation of tender documentation, including bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and pricing documents.
* Data Analysis: Analyzing project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand scope and requirements.
* Supplier & Subcontractor Engagement: Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and pricing information for various project components.
* Budget Management: Assisting in the preparation and monitoring of project budgets, ensuring costs are kept within agreed parameters.
* Collaboration: Working closely with the design and construction teams to ensure estimates are aligned with project plans and objectives.
Requirements:
* Experience: Previous experience in a similar Assistant Estimator role is essential, particularly with design and build projects.
* Project Experience: Proven experience working on projects ranging from £1 million to £15 million in value.
* Location: Candidates must be based within an hour's commute of Chesham, Buckinghamshire.
* Skills:
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
* Proficient in estimating software and tools commonly used in the industry.
