Lead Telecoms Engineer

Our client, a prominent provider in the telecoms and rail communications industry, is currently seeking a Lead Telecoms Engineer (T&C) for a contract role. This position requires working on site in substations primarily located in the North West and Scotland, focusing on telecommunications systems used within the rail sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading teams of surveyors to conduct technical surveys and audits of telecommunication equipment and systems
Working with various telecommunications technologies including routers, GSM, fibre, copper, radio, transmitters, and modems
Ensuring all activities adhere to industry standards and safety regulations
Coordinating on-site activities and managing substation access
Providing technical guidance and support to team members
Travelling and staying away as necessary to cover required regions
Job Requirements:
Experience in radio frequency and telecommunications engineering
Proficiency in radio communications within the telecoms sector
Understanding of telecommunication systems and equipment, especially in a rail context
Previous experience working in substations or on DNO network sites
Substation access with relevant qualifications such as First Aid, CSCS, ECS, and EUSR
Ability to lead and manage a team of surveyors
Willingness to travel and stay away for project requirements
Contract Details:
Contract role - £400+
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00
Location: North West and Scotland regions
