We have a very exciting opportunity for a Presales Engineer to join a global business in Milton Keynes. Our client is a forward-thinking company that embraces equality, diversity and inclusion, and offers excellent benefits and the opportunity to make a real difference.
You will be responsible for technical sales support in the pre-sales phase. This includes providing solutions to customer requirements, creating network designs, presenting them to customers and serving as an expert consultant. You'll be costing all service components and pricing a total service proposition to the customer, while working closely with the sales and procurement teams. You will also define, demonstrate, and lead test installations, including creating the respective documentation.
As Presales Engineer within Satellite networks, your role will encompass:
Attend presales meetings and assess initial requirements
Analyse the customer's business and technical requirements, design technical solutions and understand related operational processes
Design, sizing and costing of complex customer solutions, using multiple suppliers and technologies.
Present individual solution concepts to customers.
Define the design of the customer pilot and technical management
Definition of requirements for, and negotiation with telecom suppliers
Provide support in testing new features, platforms, and products, including new hardware and software
Marketing intelligence gathering and analysis
Support the sales team in the creation of customer profiles
What skills and experience are we looking for?
Proven experience in both core network and access network design, connectivity technologies terrestrial, wireless (4G, 5G) and satellite implementation, and knowledge of SDWAN, Cloud services and application requirements over networks.
Proven experience and expert knowledge of satellite technology, satellite services and satellite networks specific core components and sub systems.
Experience in writing proposals and responding to tenders.
Excellent written, presentation and communication skills.
Strong customer-facing communication skills, interfacing at all levels of customer organisation, and are adept at dealing with multiple stakeholders.
Problem-solving, prioritisation and analytical ability.
In possession of an affinity with both sales and technology functions, and a 'commercial' approach.
Full driving licence.
Ability to travel within Europe occasionally.
