About the role: SEN Teaching Assistant: Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming one-form entry primary school in Finchley. You’ll be working with children in Key Stage 1 and 2 who have autism, ADHD, and Down syndrome, supporting their learning and helping them navigate the school day.

In this role, you will be joining a specialist ARP (Additional Resource Provision) class, where you’ll work 1-on-1 and in small groups with students, creating a positive, supportive environment. The school has wonderful facilities, and you will be backed by a highly experienced SEN team, ensuring you are well-supported to thrive in this important role.

Application Requirements:

• Previous experience working with SEN children, especially those with autism, ADHD, or Down syndrome.
• A passion for education and a caring attitude towards helping young learners succeed.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to remain calm and patient in a variety of situations.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1-on-1 support for children with SEN, particularly those with autism, ADHD, and Down syndrome.
• Help create a positive and encouraging classroom environment, supporting students in their daily activities.
• Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning plans to meet the needs of each student.
• Support the emotional and social development of students, helping them to feel included and valued.
• Liaise with SEN specialists and parents to ensure that each student’s needs are met.
