We are seeking a Mechanical Site Supervisor to join our Delivery Team. This role involves the assembly and installation of fabricated products, including settlement tank scraper bridges, gravity thickeners, aerators, and access steelwork.

Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic, and organized individual with a strong work ethic and experience in the water industry. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, a good communicator, and comfortable working in a small business environment.

Location:
This is a site-based role, primarily located in the Midlands and South of England, with a focus on projects for Severn Trent and Anglian Water. Regional and nationwide travel is required, with regular overnight stays. Occasional visits to our Group headquarters in Ireland may also be necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan, supervise, and assist with on-site mechanical installation of scraper bridges and other heavy fabricated steel products for wastewater and water treatment plants. This is a hands-on role.

* Ensure all activities are planned, coordinated, and executed safely in line with required standards, policies, and Health & Safety regulations.

* Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of systems to ensure compliance with British, ISO, and client standards.

* Support fitters and operatives with site activities, including working with steelwork and pipework.

* Liaise with project managers and engineers on all aspects of the project.

* Induct on-site personnel, subcontractors, and visitors, and communicate method statements, risk assessments, and procedures.

* Conduct toolbox talks and maintain records of training, certifications, and equipment.

* Identify and report any defects in plant and equipment, ensuring timely repairs or removal from use.

* Ensure proper use of PPE by all on-site employees and subcontractors.

* Report any accidents, incidents, or near misses to the Project Manager or directly to the HSQE and HR departments in their absence.

* Maintain good housekeeping practices, keeping walkways clear of obstructions.

* Implement emergency plans when required.

* Collaborate with safety officers and auditors during site inspections.

* Record and close non-conformances for projects, and support corrective actions and improvements.

* Apply industry best practices to ensure a ‘right first time’ outcome during installation.

* Work collaboratively with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and other contractors.

* Complete daily reports and ensure compliance with company HSQE policies.

* Identify and promote new ideas and improvements to the business.

Key Skills & Experience:

* Engineering qualification or similar, ideally to HND/HNC/C&G or equivalent level.

* Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role within the utilities sector or M&E engineering environment.

* Experience in planning, supervising, and executing steelwork assembly, welding, and site mechanical works.

* Demonstrable training/qualifications in coded welding, steel fixing, or similar.

* Experience in structural steelwork and steel product installation is an advantage.

* Strong technical mindset with a focus on quality control and continuous improvement.

* Electrical awareness and training is advantageous.

* Good communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.

* Experience in the UK water industry is preferable, and experience with installing scraper bridges is a distinct advantage.

* Willingness to travel regionally and nationwide, including overnight stays, with occasional travel to Group headquarters in Ireland.

* Full driving licence (any existing endorsements must be declared).
