RSW are looking for a passionate and driven individual to join their Field Service Team due to expansion. The successful candidate MUST have HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and have a valid UK driving licence and Passport. Previous field work would be an advantage however not essential.

Full training is provided – 3 months - spent shadowing another Field Engineer.

This is an excellent opportunity with progression available for the right candidate.

Key Tasks

To service, maintain and repair diagnostic instrumentation.

Duties to include calibration and verification of equipment, in accordance to accredited and controlled procedures

Work to be carried out on-site or at UK wide locations

Ensure that equipment is serviced and verified on a 6 monthly basis

Promote and demonstrate the company products to the customer as and when required

Main Duties

Manage all off site services, repair, and maintenance programmes

Deliver service and support to the customer by telephone, e-mail, and personal visits

Keep the end user up to date with systems information, changes and updates

Accurately process and record all service activities

Work closely with the in-house service administrators ensuring service visits are carried out in a timely manner

Cooperate with the in-house service engineers on technical matters

Build positive relationships with customers

Follow standard processes and procedures to meet Home Office requirements

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience

HNC/ONC Electronic Engineering, as a minimum

3+ years relevant work experience in a field service role

Ability to install, test and repair electronic equipment (PCB circuit boards)

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Sound problem solving skills

Capable of managing several tasks simultaneously

Works well under pressure

Highly motivated to deliver the best possible service to customers

Valid passport with no travel restrictions

Full/Clean UK driving license

Reside within an easy commutable distance of Barry (Vale of Glamorgan)

Willing to travel throughout the UK with overnight stays where required

Knowledge of customer service principles and practices

Sets high personal standards for taking responsibility and accountability for successful completion of assignments and tasks

Can demonstrate ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules to accommodate service callouts

Can demonstrate exemplary attendance and punctuality

This position requires significant travel, mainly in the United Kingdom, but some overseas travel (limited) will be required. When not required for off-site service visits, the place of work will be in Barry, South Wales

Working hours are 37 hours per week, Monday-Thursday from 08:30 to 17:00 and 08:30 to 13:30 on Friday

As this is a service role, the jobholder will be required to be available on call, to cover statutory holiday periods. This will be on a rota basis. No weekend work expected.

Specialist knowledge of the below would be HIGHLY ADVANTAGEOUS:

* Infra-red technology

* Gases and compounds

* Analogue/digital service experience to component level

* UKAS requirements.

* Salary is negotiable depending on experience
