Shift Pattern: Mon to Thurs – 8am-5pm, Fri – 8am-2:30pm

We’re supporting our client, a leading manufacturer of custom parts for aerospace, automotive, rail, and other sectors, in the search for a Procurement & Sales Assistant.

Position Overview: to provide an efficient and timely internal sales service with excellent customer care. Ensure an effective purchasing system that saves cost and increases profitability.

Responsibilities for Procurement & Sales Assistant:

* Process sale orders received by telephone, e-mail or website and orders generated.

* Use customer services and communication skills within a busy, fast-paced manufacturing environment making customer related decisions and responding quickly to customer needs.

* Ensure customers have entered correct details, such as prices, discounts or product numbers.

* Resolve any queries or obtain any information that is missing, such as size or colour and general problem solving before they become bigger disappointments for customers.

* Maintain customer sales records, creating records for new customers. Updating records with details of orders and invoices.

* Ensure delivery and contact details are correct and updating customer records with any changes.

* Generating invoices using Sage.

* General administration duties.

* Purchase order processing

* Monitor and report on stock levels

* Work alongside production and planning to forecast levels of demand for services and products.

* Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality.

* Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments, and customers.

* Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers.

* Negotiate and agree contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided.

* Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities.

* Produce reports and statistics to analyse purchasing spend.

About You:

* Successful previous experience as a sales assistant, ideally in a manufacturing environment.

* Committed to continuous improvement.

* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

* Communication skills

* PC Literate

* Numeracy and Literacy skills

* Ability to handle multiple tasks

* Desire to continuously improve
