Battery Build Technician (Contract)
Location: Cheltenham
Contract Duration: Until the end of the year

My client is an innovative company, established in 2021, dedicated to commercializing next-generation electric motor technology and intellectual property for the emerging electrification aerospace market. Their cutting-edge technology leads the way in providing hybrid and all-electric propulsion solutions for Urban Air Mobility (UAM), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and General Aviation (GA).

Purpose of the Job
To carry out manufacturing, testing, and inspection tasks on high-integrity batteries within our manufacturing facility, adhering to product certification procedures, allocated budgets, and project timelines.

Principal Accountabilities/Key Result Areas:
*Assemble high voltage, high integrity battery systems according to predefined instructions.
*Prepare, build, and validate sub-components.
*Operate adhesive dispensing and ultrasonic wire-bond machines.
*Build mechanical assemblies and fit PCBs and electrical harnesses.
*Kit components for assembly and maintain build records for full traceability.
*Contribute to the development of battery build processes and risk assessments.
*Assist in the setup of battery build facilities and equipment.
*Raise non-conformance reports as needed.
*Comply with company Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies to ensure a safe working environment.
*Perform other duties as required.

Skills & Experience Required:
*Proven experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
*Flexible approach to work with a positive, "can do" attitude.
*Good written and verbal communication skills.
*Ability to work independently and within a team.
*Proficiency in MS Office suite (Jira & Confluence advantageous).
*Comfortable working with high voltage.
*Ability to read and adhere to written and verbal instructions.
*Experience working within a quality management system.
*Strong attention to detail and good manual dexterity.
*Ability to prioritize a varied workload.
*Desire to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.

Desirable:
*Experience in machine operation and mechanical assembly.
*City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
*Basic electrical understanding.
*Aerospace manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential.
