This role is responsible for the management of the stores and warehouse areas ensuring that resources are sufficient, and processes are in place to receive goods from suppliers; inspect and put into storage; Pick kits for production and subcontractors in a timely manner, replenish shopfloor stock and marshal and pack components, assemblies and machines and coordinate outbound shipments to customers. Ensuring that stock records are accurate by implementing best stock management practices are embedded within the Team. To develop a Continuous Improvement culture in the stores and warehouse and implement new processes, tools, equipment and storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and implement warehouse layouts to optimize space utilization.

* Ensure that accurate stock control records are maintained, and regular stock checks (including PI checks) are carried out to ensure data accuracy.

* Ensure that appropriate goods inwards checks are made, stock is put away and stored in a manner that ensures it can be retrieved efficiently when required and is adequately protected from damage while in storage.

* Ensure that picks for production are completed in a timely manner and fulfilled in full.

* Provide valuable input for recruitment to build a skilled and motivated team.

* Coach and mentor warehouse staff to enhance performance and job satisfaction.

* Generate insightful reports to monitor and improve overall service quality.

* Drive team KPI's for: Health & Safety, Quality, Customer service, Labour & material handling.

About You:

* At least 3+ years previous experience of Warehouse Management using MRP systems (SAP Business One - preferred) within an Engineering / Manufacturing company.

* Experience of involvement in stores / warehouse set up.

* Proficiency in warehouse management systems and technology.

* Strong understanding of goods handling, storage, and distribution processes.

* A hands-on leader that will lead from the front on the factory floor.

* Knowledge of Excel spreadsheets – intermediate to advanced level with the ability to analyse data and produce detailed reports.

* Capable user of Microsoft Office tools.

* Good communication skills (both verbal & written) liaising with various departments, suppliers and customers.

* Counterbalance and Reach Truck licence holder.

* Current full manual driving licence.

* Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.

* Ensure that Health and Safety standards are adhered to, ensuring the safety of yourself, your colleagues, visitors, and members of the public
