Asbestos Surveyor

Location: Derby DE24 8AA
Hours: 40 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday
Rate: £28 per hour
Contract Duration: Until 22nd December 2024

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Asbestos Surveyor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will conduct asbestos sampling, reinspections, and management, refurbishment, and demolition surveys across a variety of domestic, commercial, and industrial properties. Your work will be carried out in accordance with HSG264 and our company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conducting asbestos surveys and sampling in accordance with HSG264.

* Collecting site data and transporting asbestos samples to UKAS accredited laboratories.

* Completing detailed asbestos survey reports and drawings using company software.

* Building and maintaining strong client relationships, providing specialist advice and technical support when required.

* Liaising with the Asbestos Surveying Quality, Contracts, and Projects Managers, as well as clients.

* Promoting the company in a professional manner and setting a personal example at all times.

* Ensuring compliance with current Health & Safety guidelines and company policies.

* Adhering to CAR 2012, HSG 264, and other regulatory asbestos legislation.

* Overseeing the survey process on-site, assessing additional risks, and ensuring accessibility and safety.

* Defining deviations from the agreed scope of work and leading the survey team.

* Mentoring trainee surveyors when needed.

* Managing and maintaining all issued equipment and PPE, documenting inspections as per company procedures.

Essential Requirements:

* BOHS P402 (or equivalent) qualification in Building Surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos.

* Minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience.

* Willingness to travel extensively, covering regions from Cornwall to the Scottish Borders, with office-based support in the Midlands.

* Telephone interviews and inductions will take place in Derby prior to the start date.
