We are excited to be working with a dynamic and rapidly growing family-owned business in Preston to recruit a quality manager. Gafoor is a key player in their sector operating on a national basis, supplying poultry products to leading blue chip manufacturers and retailers.

The company is looking for a quality manager who will take on responsibility for leading a team of quality controllers within our facility. The primary focus of the role will be to ensure that all products achieve the highest standards of food safety and meet a wide range of customer specifications. The quality manager will be hands-on, driving the quality culture across the business and ensure a focus on continuous improvement is maintained.

This role is not open to candidates who require visa sponsorship to work in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

Through visible leadership, ensuring that a positive quality culture is encouraged, continuous improvement sustained, and best practices shared
Contribute ideas for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all quality systems
In partnership with the wider team, support the site implementation of all new products, continuous quality improvement projects including the effective execution of line trials and execution of process capability evaluations
Assist with internal and customer audits and contact with FSA, EA and onsite OVS
Monitor and update improvement plans for customer complaints and non-conformances
Provide technical support to QA’s, production & commercial as and when required
About you:

Key attributes and skills:

Degree in food science or equivalent with experience of HACCP, traceability and general food safety or equivalent on the job experience
Experience within a BRC food production / manufacturing site within the UK
Strong communication skills and the assertiveness to challenge others where necessary
Strong work and team ethic, able to motivate and inspire others
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities at any one time
Excellent I.T skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Auditing skills
Analytical problem-solving skills
