Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Transport Planner to oversee logistics operations during the night shift. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating transport schedules, managing a fleet of vehicles, and ensuring the smooth execution of logistics operations. Your efforts will be crucial in maintaining high service standards and optimizing operational processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and optimize transportation schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods.
* Coordinate with drivers to manage routes and address any operational issues that arise during the shift.
* Monitor transport activities and provide real-time updates to relevant stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
* Maintain detailed records of logistics operations and prepare reports as needed.
* Continuously seek opportunities to improve route efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience in transport planning, logistics, or a related field.
* Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, customers, and team members.
* Proficiency in transport planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance standards.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with route optimization software and logistics management systems.
* Familiarity with the Doncaster area and surrounding logistics networks.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and make informed decisions quickly.
