Our client EPPH require an experienced Buyer with Mechanical and Electrical knowledge to join our team based in Durham, UK. Reporting to the Service and Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for managing supplier relationships to ensure that procurement activities are achieved safely, according to time and budget. This position provides a challenging working environment, where there are many opportunities to work and grow with the company.
Experience to be considered for this position:
* Proven experience as a Buyer in the Mechanical and Electrical purchasing field.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills.
* Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
* Excellent personal integrity.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Attention to detail and a keen eye for quality.
* Interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to staff at all levels.
* Maintain strong relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.
* Full permanent working rights in the UK.
* UK current and clear manual driving license.

Key Responsibilities:
Identify and sourcing products that align with the company’s brand and customer preferences.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
Ensure that goods, materials, and services are procured in accordance with specified requirements.
Meet the suppliers to discuss products and pricing.
Liaise with vendors on rate adjustments and incorrect materials.
Negotiate with suppliers to ensure correct rates and trading terms and delivery schedules.
Develop additional or alternative sources of supply and maintain lists of accepted vendors.
Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers regarding product quality, delivery, or pricing.
Raise and maintain purchase orders as required and match invoices to purchase orders.
Expedite all outstanding purchase orders.
Coordinate and update register in line with project budgets.
Monitor supplier performance based on quality, pricing, and reliability.
Liaise with the operational teams in respect of stock levels, transfer and deliveries and assist where possible.
Maintain accurate purchasing records, including contracts, orders, and supplier correspondence.
Support Procurement Manager in Ipswich Business Unit with procurement activities.
Ensure end of month invoicing of goods is carried out appropriately.
Adherence to internal procedures and good purchasing practice
