Buyer - Operations and Logistics

**Key Tasks**
The Buyer - Operations and Logistics will report into the Senior Procurement Manager. They will be a core team member of our new Pragmatic Park production facility, ensuring we have the materials on hand to run continuously to plan. They will work very closely with the Operations team to troubleshoot issues as they arise and to ensure our forward orders remain accurate. They will support the wider Procurement team with tasks such as reporting, PO creation and management, resolving queries and onboarding new suppliers.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Working with the operational team to forecast and maintain site stock levels in order to meet production requirements.
- Keep up to date with suppliers and stakeholders to manage demand, off site stock, deliveries, quality issues and services.
- Manage the day to day troubleshooting of supplier or material issues.
- Ensure system data is effectively maintained, re-order policies are appropriate and MRP demand signals are interpreted to efficiently manage required materials.
- Complete administration of vetting new suppliers, managing and issuing purchase orders in our ERP system, resolving invoice and delivery queries.
- Issue RFQs and negotiate terms with suppliers when needed.
- Gather data and report on supplier performance and procurement team KPIs.
- Develop and manage effective relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Attend and speak at the 2 daily stand up meetings to keep team members updated and take on new tasks (sometimes urgent)
Skills and Experience
- A Level or equivalent qualification, or 2+ years experience in a similar role.
- MCIPS or working towards CIPS would be a benefit.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP and MRP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- MS office proficiency - particularly Excel
- Confident communicator with the ability to effectively communicate with, and influence, internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work closely with internal stakeholder to develop strong, closely aligned relationships.
- Ability to manage relationships with external suppliers, and confident having conversations around non-performance and change management.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritise tasks accordingly.
