We've been engaged by one of the leading integrated waste management companies in the UK to recruit a Health and Safety Manager on a 3-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension. The contract will focus on undertaking a key new construction project, managing all of the contractors on site whilst carrying out general health and safety construction duties.

The responsibilities of the Health and Safety Manager will be:

Oversee all contractors on site, ensuring best practice is maintained and identify key areas for improvement
Delivering support and training to site operatives on health, safety and environmental issues as required
Performing regular audits and inspections across sites in the regional area, accurately reporting on findings
Ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and legislation, striving to reach industry best practice
Develop and maintain key systems, staying on top of the permitting process
Ensuring all work undertaken is managed and aligned with ISO 9001 accreditation standards, stored, managed and organised on IT systemsThe successful Health and Safety Manager will have:

Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within construction
Client side and Principal Contractor experience is desirable
NEBOSH or equivalent Certificate and relevant membership of IOSH (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Desirable)
Experience with ISO Management Systems
