Head of Drama

Job Type: Full time from September
Location: South Buckinghamshire
Salary: Main Pay Scale / Upper Pay ScaleWe are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Head of Drama to lead our Drama Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing all aspects of the Drama curriculum within the Academy, providing high-quality leadership, and contributing to the overall leadership capacity of the Academy.

Day to Day of the Role:

Deliver high-quality and successful Drama lessons to all age groups.
Serve as an exemplary role model in all aspects of classroom practice.
Lead the development of high-quality learning and teaching within the Drama Department through coaching and training.
Monitor progress and attainment, using data to drive departmental improvement.
Share good practice and foster dialogue about learning and teaching within the department.
Plan and supervise theatre visits and contribute to Drama enrichment activities, including Academy productions.
Maintain Drama spaces, ensuring the safe use and storage of equipment.
Lead the creation and delivery of a rigorous, challenging, and personalised curriculum.
Engage in curriculum development to ensure relevance to student needs and alignment with examining and awarding bodies.
Respond to national developments in Drama education and teaching methodologies.Required Skills & Qualifications:

A proven track record of effective teaching and learning within Drama.
Experience in leading a team or department, with the ability to raise attainment and progress.
Strong understanding of curriculum design and development.
Ability to use research and evidence to inform teaching practices.
Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the capacity to manage change effectively.
Commitment to professional development, both personally and for the department.
