Civil Design Engineer

Role:**

Join our multi-disciplinary design team, focusing on temporary and permanent engineering design for projects within the Thames Water and Southern Water areas.

**Requirements:**

- Engineering degree with 1-3 years of site/design experience in civil engineering, ideally in the water industry.

- Proficient in AutoCAD (2D essential, 3D optional).

- Experience with Finite Element Analysis software (any type).

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, design standards, Eurocodes/British Standards, geotechnical, and reinforced concrete design.

- Full UK driving licence and own transport for site visits.

**Responsibilities:**

- Perform all aspects of civil engineering design.

- Coordinate with CAD and site delivery teams.

- Participate in design reviews, HAZOPS, ALMs, and Stage Gate reviews.

- Complete geotechnical reports and arrange ground investigation works.

- Conduct site visits to review and improve designs.

**Skills:**

- Strong written and verbal communication.

- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well-organised.

- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.

**Package:**

- Salary: £40k-£60k depending on experience

- Flexible start date

- Hours: 08:00-18:00 (Mon-Fri) with 1-hour lunch

- Mileage: 45p/mile for travel beyond the office (first 10k miles/year)

- Pension: Company matched 3%

- Annual leave: 22 days (excluding bank holidays), with 7 days retained for the Christmas break
