They are a commercial business and provide innovative solutions to businesses across various industries and offer flexible and tailored finance solutions to meet the needs of their clients, specialising in structured and complex Asset Finance deals. The team have a fantastic reputation in the market and they are building a very exciting business. As they continue to expand, we are looking for a highly skilled and analytical Credit Analyst to join their New Business Team.
As a Credit Analyst within their New Business Team, you will be responsible for conducting detailed financial analysis and preparing comprehensive credit papers. You will play a key role in the credit assessment process by qualifying and quantifying credit proposals, providing financial commentary, and submitting credit papers to underwriting for approval. Your insights and expertise will directly influence decision-making and help ensure that their lending decisions are made with a sound understanding of financial risk and opportunity. The role is office based in the City of London but will occasionally involve accompanying the team to prospect meetings.
Financial Analysis : Conduct in-depth analysis of financial statements and key metrics to assess the financial health of potential clients.
Credit Proposals : Review and qualify credit proposals, ensuring all necessary financial data is accurate and complete.
Credit Paper Preparation : Prepare detailed credit papers outlining your analysis and recommendations for submission to the credit underwriting team.
Risk Assessment : Quantify the credit risk associated with each proposal, providing clear insights into the potential risks and mitigating factors.
Collaboration : Work closely with the underwriting team, sales, and other internal stakeholders to support decision-making and ensure timely processing of credit proposals.
Financial Commentary : Provide clear, concise financial commentary on each proposal, summarising key points of analysis and any concerns regarding the applicant’s financial position.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to ensure the credit analysis process remains aligned with market standards.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify key financial risks and opportunities.
Proven experience in credit analysis, ideally in the asset finance industry.
Excellent knowledge of financial statements, ratios, and other key financial metrics.
Attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality, accurate credit papers.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data in an understandable way.
Proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed, data-driven decisions.
