Millions of developers and companies use GitHub to build, ship, and maintain their software. The GitHub Production Engineering team is responsible for operating GitHub on a day-to-day basis. With over 100 million users, hundreds of thousands of registered apps and billions of API calls every day, GitHub provides the core infrastructure that binds the open source community together.

We’re looking for a Staff Product Manager for the GitHub Enterprise Server team. In this role, you’ll help define the vision and product strategy for how GitHub provides developer operations software for our customers. You will deliver new features to enable ease of operations, high reliability and scale.


Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver the vision for GitHub Enterprise Server product. You will be responsible for a vision that aligns with customer needs and GitHub’s goals, as well as defining and delivering key results.
  • Work with customers to help them be successful in using GitHub products.

  • Work across teams to enhance the cloud offering to meet needs of customers that may want to migrate from Server to SaaS.

  • Build deep expertise on the architectural patterns that customers use when deploying GitHub on their data centers or cloud of choice, looking for opportunities to increase performance and reliability.

  • Drive the pace of shipping and learning across teams, while maintaining our high quality bar.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in product/service/project/program management, software development, product design, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in related field AND 6+ years experience in product/service/project/program management, software development, product design, or related field OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience translating complex technical direction into actionable priorities and a roadmap.

  • Experience in delivering projects that involve complex technical problems across organization boundaries.

  • Experience with data center infrastructure products, or cloud migration strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building highly available software platforms and helping customers self-deploy and manage them.

  • Experience deploying or administering software systems in data centers or the cloud.

  • Experience working on developer products, and up-to-speed with current trends around infrastructure as code or have experience with operations products.

  • Experience working remotely and leading distributed teams.

Ability to meet GitHub, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft, GitHub’s parent company, Cloud Screen upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
