Your responsibilities

Objectives of the Role

To ensure efficient and timely fulfilment of all sales orders. OTD, Cost and Quality.
To manage all aspects of production from planning to despatch of goods.
To manage all Safety, Security, Locking up aspects of the facility.

  • Day to day management of the department and leadership of the team.
  • Managing a small production team maximising and focusing resource, productivity, and efficiencies throughout.
  • To manage OTD and develop improvement plans to increase OTD & OTIF to create reliable invoicing to forecast.
  • To manage department expenditure and costs, controlling the annual production overhead budget.
  • To manage and embed a Health & Safety culture and safe systems of work throughout the Service Centre for staff and visitors.
  • To manage and embed company quality systems and ensure all goods delivered are to the correct quality.
  • To manage all inventory and materials. Ensuring all parts are booked to orders and production orders.
  • To create a world class facility, striving for continual improvement in all areas. Develop and embed a lean culture and company behaviours throughout the department.

Activities and Duties:

  • Run the daily meetings, focusing on deliveries, quality and efficiency. Recording issues using CAPA form.
  • To manage the Production Schedule and Orderbook and delivery dates in the ERP (Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Work closely with the Projects Manager, Engineering Manager and Purchasing Manager to create job focused material flow and workable work.
  • Balance and align inventory to runners and repeaters.
  • Produce weekly and monthly staffing level plans to match SC volumes and ensure levels are efficient and on time delivery is achieved.
  • Manage the chain cell, ensuring Single Piece flow is optimised, reviewed and improved where possible.
  • Run weekly Cell Meetings and action accordingly.
  • Manage the safety of all workers and visitors through thorough implementation of H&S procedures and risk assessments of all activities and implementation of the continual improvement process in line with HS SC1
  • Ensure housekeeping is kept high through implementation and auditing of 5s system.
  • Hold Improvement meetings with staff and action to reduce lead times of Fabrication and Assembly, reduce wastes in processes. Feedback to Engineering and Operations on issues and opportunities though CAPA.
  • Manage the flow of products through the SC to despatch ensuring quality and process control throughout.
  • Management and development of SC staff including setting goals, performance appraisals, skills matrix’s and continual feedback
