Salary: £55,000 per annum
Location: UK based (fully remote working)
The role
We are looking for a Linux System Administrator to build, maintain and support their technical infrastructure services for internal and external SaaS-hosted clients.
This role reports to the Head of Infrastructure and has the following core activities: -
- Provision of infrastructure solutions to support technical software delivery and operations teams.
- Monitoring all internal and production systems, ensuring stability, performance and capacity management, and recommending improvements/efficiencies wherever necessary
Key Information
- The company have approximately 300 Linux boxes
- They are looking to move away from Centos and move to Ubuntu
- They want to make the infrastructure defined, consistent and repeatable – they are putting effort into automation config and templating what an environment should look like.
- This is not a traditional Sys Admin role – this role will involve working with configuration/automation tooling.
- Roadmap projects = security improvements, automate more operational tasks, improve AWS work, improve platform architecture, and manage Kubernetes for the wider group.
Experience needed
- Ubuntu Linux system administration (ideally have Centos)
- Security/authentication ( 2FA, MTLS, WAF)
- HAproxy traffic balancing layer4/layer7
- Encryption technologies
- Ansible OR other automation deployment/configuration tools
Desirable Skills
- Open source web stacks (PostgreSQL / Apache / NGINX / ETCD)
- Git & CI/CD
- Docker Swarm
