This Senior Specialist Nurse role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse to join a well-established, multi-disciplinary team providing secondary care to people with a primary diagnosis of psychosis.
They will be able to provide evidence based interventions and support to the most complex service users within the South Camden Rehabilitation & Recovery Service.
The post holder will have additional responsibilities as assigned by the Service Manager and play an active role in the development of the service through Quality Improvement and supervision of junior staff.
The South Camden Rehabilitation & Recovery Service is a well-established, multi-disciplinary team providing secondary care to people with an established diagnosis of psychosis. The team provides a range of interventions to support recovery including medication, psychological therapies, welfare rights advice, social care input, occupational therapy and employment support.
The post involves providing clinical leadership to nursing staff and the wider team, as well as coordinating the depot clinic supporting, managing and improving nursing functions in the team and improving physical health outcomes for our service users. As a service we are constantly striving to improve our systems and processes and the successful applicant should be familiar with the Quality Improvement (QI) framework.
Registered Nurse - Nursing (all registrations)
Evidence of further post-registration relevant training /ongoing academic study relevant to area of practice
Other advanced relevant training i.e. Advanced Care Planning, Non-Medical Prescribing physical health training or AMHP training.
Evidence of Level 2 Safeguarding Adults and Children
Extensive experience of working in a specialist capacity for people with psychosis in a community setting
Demonstrate an understanding of risk together with an ability to evaluate and contain risk with reference to the individual, staff and carers
Evidence of participation in service development/Quality Improvement project
Able to work autonomously and to deputise for senior staff in a variety of roles when required to do so.
Competent using computers and keyboards for entering personally generated data, generating and responding to emails, conducting web searches, storing data and retrieving data, producing reports etc
Highly motivated and committed to improving quality and services for people with psychosis and complex needs.
