We are currently seeking to hire a Senior Business Development Manager, reporting to the Head of the UK Satcom Commercial Division. The Senior Business Development Manager will have extensive (i.e. The successful candidate will be tasked with establishing further client accounts and will therefore need to possess a demonstratable track record of stimulating sales growth ultimately within the commercial Satcom sector. The successful candidate needs to be able to work across the Satcom value-chain and associated programme lifecycle and is expected to have a good understanding of the underlying technology and ability to generate resulting proposals from a commercial, managerial, and technical perspective. In managing key accounts, the successfully applicant will be expected to bring his/her own business development portfolio, be able to seek out new divisional opportunities, establish and follow tangible leads, whilst also serving as a team plyer within the wider division.
The Senior Business Development Manager is required to carry out and be responsible for the following tasks:
Establish, develop and manage a solid lead generation campaign and pipeline, reporting progress into the Head, Satcom Commercial Division on a weekly basis
Creating and developing a growing portfolio of national and non-national clients operating within the Commercial Satcom sector and associated with engineering, test, technology, and application-based offerings.
Harvesting business intelligence and sharing it amongst the wider sales and marketing organisation.
Exploring existing accounts to develop further opportunities and foster repeat business,
Working through the full tendering process to achieve new contract success.
Reporting of activities and contributing to subsequent Divisional Sales Order forecasts with associated risk analysis to mitigate potential pipeline misalignment with the business set sales target.
owning and managing weekly, monthly, quarterly reporting processes to the Head, Satcom Commercial Division, creating robust dashboards that measure and track personalised KPIs and sales metrics.
Thereafter, yearly targets will be set in coordination with the Head, Commercial Satcom Division.
Attend associated events to promote our capabilities, services and to effectively network.
Feedback business intelligence to the R&D Division is terms of market conditions.
Minimum of 10 years direct experience of business development, sales and (ideally) marketing gained in relation to systems engineering and technical consultancy and development services. This experience should ideally have been gained within the UK and European space and Satcom ecosystems, ideally matured in incumbent satellite network operators, terminal technology vendors and space/satcom service providers.
Commercial and technical awareness to analyse reports, understand financial metrics and changing economic conditions.
Team player with the ability to work effectively cross-functionally, influence senior management decision making, operating both internally and at client levels.
A good knowledge of the emerging generation of New Space platforms and technologies (e.g. integrated 5G satellite-terrestrial networking, payload design, optical comms, software defined satellites, etc.) Competitive Package covering salary, generous holiday allowance, training plan and more
