Job Title: application Support - Financial Services

Location: Belfast

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Support: Provide first and second-level support for our financial services clients, ensuring timely resolution of issues and high customer satisfaction.
  • Customer Onboarding: Assist with the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a smooth transition and understanding of our services.
  • Process Management: Understand and adapt to evolving support processes, reacting swiftly to changes and ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Utilize strong Unix/Linux skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Automation: Use common scripting languages to automate routine tasks and integrate with existing frameworks.
  • Financial Services Expertise: Leverage your knowledge of market data and order entry to support our clients effectively.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with clients and internal teams.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Passion for Technology: Eager to learn and implement new technologies to improve support processes.
  • Support Experience: Proven experience in providing first and second-level support in a customer-facing role.
  • Unix/Linux: Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments.
  • Scripting Knowledge: Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl to automate tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly.

Advantageous Skills and Experience

  • Networking: Understanding of networking principles and troubleshooting.
  • Deployment Management: Experience with deployment processes and tools.
  • Foreign Exchange Markets: Knowledge of FX markets and trading practices.
  • Messaging Protocols: Familiarity with messaging protocols, especially FIX (Financial Information eXchange).
  • Technical Writing: Ability to document processes, create user guides, and write technical content.
