Working within the council’s emergency planning and events team you will be at the forefront of shaping emergency preparedness and events from a strategic role, includes being the lead for the development and collaborative projects and providing a comprehensive and efficient emergency planning function, which manages risk and ensures the Council and all its key partners are prepared to respond to incidents and imbedding best practice for emergency preparedness and events planning.
Devising, implementing and delivering a continuous programme of training and exercises to test plans and develop the skills of the Response Command Structure and Business Continuity Service Leads in connection with all aspects of emergency preparedness.
# Responsible for liaising with external event organisers and advising on all associated applications.
# Ensuring that all event information is collected and effectively passed on to all relevant council teams.
# Management of all information associated with an event before, during and after to ensure that information is tracked, saved and distributed to relevant Event Group participants.
# To be responsible for reports presented to the Events Group, arranging and attending regular status meetings.
# Undertake project debriefs following key events.

Health, Local Authority, Police, Voluntary and Community Sectors or in contingency planning in a large organisation.
Good strategic planning and organisational skills; monitoring performance, assessing and mitigating risks, managing competing priorities and delivering outcomes within the required deadlines.
Experience of using IT software/Microsoft applications to prepare quality written material for a range of audiences, accurately recording notes and actions, and maintaining key service and project documents.
