Your new company Hays are working in partnership to hire a Civil Engineer to assist with the operations of our client, located in Fermanagh and its surrounding areas.
Our client is dedicated to the management, development, and promotion of inland waterways.
Their primary objectives include enhancing public enjoyment, conserving heritage, and encouraging recreational activities such as boating, cycling, and walking along the waterways.
They play a vital role in fostering outdoor recreation and safeguarding the natural and cultural heritage of these waterways.
Your new role The successful candidate for the Civil Engineering role will be an integral member of the operational management team.
Overseeing the management, maintenance, and recreational and commercial use of infrastructure.
Manage operational staff, as well as consultants and contractors engaged in new projects or refurbishments.
Coordinate with user groups to facilitate events Collaborate with third parties and local stakeholders to develop the waterways for greater recreational use.
The successful applicant will join the Emergency Response Team and will be required to provide out-of-office services on a rotational basis, with supplemental pay.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful for the Civil Engineering role, you must have the following qualifications and skills: 2 or above) in Civil or Structural Engineering (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications) or an equivalent qualification Hold a current driving licence and have access to transport which will permit travel throughout Ireland Ensure that you can effectively supervise works spread over a wide area.
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing Understanding health, safety and welfare issues associated with construction and maintenance works Have experience and ability in the use of IT based engineering equipment/engineering design tools Able to understand issues involved in two jurisdictions (UK and Ireland) What you'll get in return Our client is offering an attractive annual salary negotiable on experience.
