Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for bridging the gap between development and operations, ensuring seamless integration of software delivery processes. The DevOps Engineer will collaborate with software developers and other IT staff to manage code releases, automate deployment pipelines, and enhance system reliability and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations and Support

Ensure services developed and provided by the DevOps team are effectively delivered to internal and external customers.

Ability to develop and maintain a product catalogue of repeatable services that can be consistently delivered and effectively support these products in use.

Manage cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Optimize cloud resources for cost efficiency and scalability.

Implement security best practices for cloud environments, including identity and access management (IAM) and data encryption.

Monitoring and Logging:

Develop and maintain monitoring solutions to track system performance, availability, and reliability.

Configure logging frameworks to collect, analyze, and visualize system logs for troubleshooting and performance optimization.

Security and Compliance:

Collaborate with security teams to implement security controls and best practices.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).

Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:

Ability to diagnose and resolve issues related to OpenShift clusters, applications, and underlying infrastructure.

Proficiency in troubleshooting networking, storage, and performance-related issues in OpenShift environments.

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated software delivery.

Streamline the build, test, and deployment processes to accelerate release cycles.

Integrate automated testing frameworks into CI/CD pipelines to ensure software quality.

Infrastructure Automation:

Utilize infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate provisioning and configuration management.

Implement and manage containerization platforms (e.g., Openshift, Docker, Kubernetes) for efficient deployment and scaling of applications.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with development teams to understand project requirements and support software delivery.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on project status, issues, and resolutions.

Experience:

Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role.

Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD.

Strong understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).

Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible).

Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Familiarity with OpenShift architecture, components, and functionalities.

Experience with deploying and managing applications on OpenShift clusters.

Knowledge of OpenShift resources such as Pods, Services, Routes, Deployments, and Persistent Volume Claims (PVCs).

Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Experience of working with customers advising them on the innovative approaches to their problems using Automation

Experience leading and mentoring others in a team environment.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Relevant certifications such as Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) with a focus on OpenShift to demonstrate proficiency and expertise in OpenShift.

Experience with infrastructure monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack).

Knowledge of network protocols and security fundamentals.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps best practices.
