Regardless of their position in the company, our view is that everyone has a valuable part to play in delivering the very best.17 Profile The key purpose of the role is to support the delivery of insightful analysis within the Commercial function of RATP Dev. This requires maintaining robust forecasting models and analysis that achieve an effective flow of data inputs through to high quality financial information which is presented to the business. This needs to be delivered by challenging existing procedures and driving continuous improvement in the core processes which impact the key data inputs and outputs. The Commercial Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in the production of analysis underpinning RATP's pricing on new business tenders, and wider business strategy. A desire to provide high quality, insightful information with the aim of facilitating enhanced decision making and assessment of business performance by senior leadership is highly regarded. This role requires working directly with managers and senior staff across the business on a consistent basis; an ability to create simple messages out of complex data is critical to communicating key message to non-finance staff.RESPONSIBILITIES
The position reports to the Commercial Finance Manager, with the role being responsible for and supportive for:
- Preparation and ownership of financial models and analysis supporting commercial business areas across the business.
- Frequent review of inputs to new business tenders with senior stakeholders to accurate business pricing.
- Supporting the Financial Control team in maintaining accurate books of accounts, including the preparation of assigned accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis at key reporting deadlines.
- Overseeing of updates to analysis forecasting across multi-years.
- Overseeing and delivering business partnering activities across the business, developing strong working relationships with key stakeholders
- Providing relevant input to the development and documenting of business processes.
- Supporting delivery of day-to-day activities of the Commercial Finance Team.
- Degree educated, 2:1 is desirable.
- Part Qualified Accountancy qualification - ACA/ACCA/CIMA is desirable.
- Advanced MS Excel skills - ability to handle large spreadsheets with automated features. Comfortable with complex excel functions (INDEX MATCH, SUMIFS, IF formulas and Conditional Formatting).
- Financial modelling and forecasting.
- Emotional intelligence to engage in effective business partnering with non-finance personnel.
- Stakeholder management.
- Effective communicator, at home in a blue-collar environment.
- Hybrid working model, with a minimum 3 days per week required on site.
- Proficient analytical skills and high levels of attention to detail
- Working within the FP&A department of a significant business, ideally with a resource driven operation.
- Preparation of Budget and Forecast, and deep diving analysis in data.
- Financial modelling
- Working alongside (business partnering) non finance personal.
