An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACP) to join the team of ACPs working in Acute Medicine at UCLH. The role will support the acute medical service at UCLH, working across both Same Day Emergency care Unit (SDEC) and the medical on-call team.

The ACP will act as an autonomous practitioner looking after medical patients. They will work as a part of the multidisciplinary team, which will include trainee ACPs.

Main duties of the job

This service is supported by the Consultant Nurse Acute Medicine and Acute Medical Consultants. The post holder will primarily work in SDEC, which is open seven days a week. The post holder will be expected to work across a variety of shifts, including weekends.

We will consider trainees for the post at band 7 and support them to achieve the necessary master qualifications and competency to progress to autonomous practitioners.

Knowledge & Qualifications

Essential


  • Registered Nurse Part 1, 2 or relevant section of the register
  • Teaching course
  • Management training course/ leadership course
  • Honours degree (Level 3/ FHEQ Level 6) in health-related subject
  • Successful completion of a PGDip in Advanced Practice at Masters/Level 7 programme
  • Independent and supplementary prescribing qualification

  • Full MSc in Advanced Practice

  • Minimum 18 months experience in an trainee advanced clinical practitioner role
  • Minimum 18 months experience within acute medicine
