As a Sales Manager for the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian, you will be responsible for dedicated MICE & Leisure segments within the UK and have the responsibility of supporting the Sales Team, taking responsibility for developing new business opportunities whilst driving strategies, activities & initiatives to retain and grow our business and:
• Building a strong database for clients in the UK and Europe.
• Create & coordinate prospecting and sales blitzes.
• Work closely with other luxury hotels in London and Dublin on joint Sales actions.
• Develop a strong sales and marketing plan on how you will penetrate your markets through calls, virtual site inspections, Dinners etc.
• Attend and participate in sales initiatives, customer appointments & tradeshows as required.
• Take responsibility for the activation of the hotel overall sales strategy.
• Manage the relationship between on property sales & above property i.e. Hilton Worldwide Sales / Area Sales Office / SSSO.
• Please note that within this role there is extensive and frequent travel required throughout the UK. There will also be an element of international travel as and when required to meet business needs.
• Ability to analyse departmental financial data in order to make strategic and tactical decisions.
• Proven understanding of client’s business and category, including business plans, competitive environment & distribution channels and product financials.
• Extensive understanding of local market and industry in order to make recommendations on how to achieve the budget.
• Ability to deliver performance feedback to subordinates to improve overall performance.
• University degree at bachelor level or equivalent or experience in lieu thereof.
• Significant work experience in roles including some people management experience.
• Fluency in spoken and written English
