Cloud Platform Engineer

Rate- up £550 per day, outside IR35

Location of work- Remote

Contract length- 3 months initially

The role: Our client is an IoT electronics business who require a Cloud Platform Engineer to join the team for an initial 3-month contract that is likely to extend. You will be tasked with making platform improvements and readying the Cloud infrastructure for an exciting product roadmap of digital service developments.

The company currently have millions of electronic devices deployed across the globe which collect a large amount of real time data which is sent to AWS cloud. The platform is updating slowly and reliability needs to be improved as the business is increasingly using its digital services for future product developments.

The role covers:

  • Automating cloud services
  • Infrastructure Management and Data Management
  • Scripting with one or more of the following: PowerShell, Python, Go, TypeScript
  • SecOps
  • Automating delivery of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) via Terraform
  • Architecture awareness and experience around enterprise scale applications and distributed systems
  • Supporting deployments into both development and Live environments

To be suitable for this role you should have:

  • The expertise to lead the definition and support of AWS delivery platform in complex engagements, as part of a Cloud Engineering team being hands on with AWS Services
  • Extensive experience of managing, optimising and maintaining AWS RDS
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD pipeline
  • Experience with CloudFormation, or CDK/CDKTF
  • SecOps experience and an understanding of Security Compliance e.g. PCI DSS, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, NIST
  • Familiarity with collaboration suites i.e. Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence)
