Oxford Oxfordshire, United Kingdom Ivy Farm Technologies Full time

At Ivy Farm our mission is to create the world’s best guilt free and sustainable meat, it’s cultivated meat, just like real meat, only made differently - and we’re super excited by it. Be one of the first applicants, read the complete overview of the role below, then send your application for consideration. Were a humble community of 40+ scientific and technical crew; a team where you can make a true difference to animal well-being and global sustainability. As a motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic individual, you’ll work closely with all team members to support multiple aspects across the company. You’ll be a self-starter, able to thrive in a fast-paced, action-oriented team environment with a clear passion for cross team organisation and impact. Agility and nimbleness will be key to improve laboratory operations and that’s where you’ll thrive. With an overt attitude of positivity when facing challenges, you’ll have a good eye for detail, as well as being an effective communicator, enjoying being part of a team. To be successful in this role you will need to be able to show initiation to problem solving and be prepared to get the job done. Experience of working in a Laboratory Operation environment would be beneficial but is not essential as full training will be provided. The role is varied - no two days are the same in this department and the atmosphere is a positive one. Responsibilities to give you a flavour - but of course not limited to:

  • Responsible for incoming deliveries into the building in a safe and organised manner, checking goods on arrival and verify delivery notes against orders
  • Checking off deliveries ensuring compliance with ordered stock levels, noting & reporting any discrepancies. Recording details accurately and maintain stock levels and booking out stock as required
  • Ensure tidiness and security of stores and other areas of responsibility, reporting any faults and hazards
  • Cover the laboratory operations department throughout the working day
  • Supporting certain laboratory systems such as temperature, liquid nitrogen, gas
  • Perform regular counts of the stock and participate in full stocktakes, monitoring stock levels to prevent shortages
  • Co-ordinate contractor visits
  • Waste management support – recycling, chemical, weee
  • Trouble-shooting issues – this role is nothing but varied
  • Handle enquiries from team members regarding product availability/delivery
  • Learning how our computer systems work (full training given) to fully support stores with minor technical issues
  • Working side-by-side with our scientific team you’ll be used to working to deadlines and delivering results

  • Ability to manage time effectively, to prioritise and complete tasks with a strong attention to detail and a methodological approach to work
  • This role will suit someone who is quality and process driven, responsive to customer needs and who can take a positive approach, able to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing environment
  • Previous experience in goods in and operational environments desirable
  • Exhibit a high degree of flexibility - a collaborative spirit
  • Computer knowledge and proficiency, including Microsoft Office Excel. If you know ‘Amici’ then that’s all the better
  • Results orientated with the drive and ability to set and meet agreed objectives
  • Team player with good communication and numeracy skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
To be an Ivy Farmer we need you to be:
  • Natural problem solver
  • Lateral thinker
  • Have excellent time-management & organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal
  • Happy to work with a team or alone to achieve deadlines
We’re an innovative bunch, with a can-do attitude and one that’s unafraid to think differently. We also have project targets, compliance expectations and – as in any fast-growing business – sometimes competing priorities. That’ll be something you have not just experienced previously but somewhere you thrive. We also realise this may well be your first venture into cultivated meat – and that’s absolutely fine – we have a great team that will be excited to help you get to grips with that. So, if you’re ready to join an emerging ground-breaking industry, that’s both able to think differently and actively looking to do so, and one where you can make a difference to animal well-being and sustainability then we’re waiting to hear from you And just to confirm, here at Ivy Farm, we're an employer that believes in creating a workplace where everyone feels included and valued, no matter who they are. We're always on the lookout for people with awesome attitudes and impressive behaviour. If you think you can bring something positive to the farm, we're excited to hear from you. Even if you're not sure you meet all the requirements, don't be shy – you never know what might happen We want to make a special shout out to people who identify as LGBTQIA+, disabled, or come from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic backgrounds. These groups don't have as much representation in the tech industry, and we really want to encourage you to apply. Salary: £DOE, Bonus, Excellent Benefits Package, inc.
