We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Director to lead their Fire and Security sales team. This is a pivotal role within the Fire & Security division, particularly as they integrate and expand their capabilities across their automated fire and life safety systems arm. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales leadership, a deep understanding of the fire and security industry, and a strategic mindset to drive business growth. You will be joining an experienced board and hold accountability for driving growth with a "hands-on" approach to leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve company targets and expand our market presence.
Team Leadership: Inspire, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team sales goals. Provide ongoing training and professional development.
Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends and growth opportunities. Use insights to inform sales strategies and tactics.
Sales Operations: Oversee pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting. Ensure the sales team follows established processes and utilises CRM tools effectively.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to align sales efforts with overall business objectives.
Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor sales performance metrics. Analyse data to measure the effectiveness of sales strategies.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the sales budget, ensuring efficient use of resources
Networking: Represent the business at major industry events, conferences, trade shows, and exhibitions.
Critical Impact Areas:
- Conduct a thorough SWOT analysis to ensure the team, systems, and processes are in place for growth.
- Provide inspirational leadership to a sales team selling market-leading fire and security systems.
- Proactive coaching and development of a national, field-based sales team.
- Develop a close working relationship with all internal stakeholders.
- Report data, figures, and targets to the Board with a focus on growth.
Key Requirements:
Market/Industry Experience: Minimum of 10 years in sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the fire and security industry.
Leadership: Motivates & Inspires others and acts as a role model of energy, enthusiasm, and commitment. Demonstrates self-awareness and understands the impact of own leadership style on others. Uses coaching effectively to get the best from others. Energised by achievement, the desire to "leave a mark" and to create real value.
Growth: Sets and achieves challenging goals/milestones for self and others. Proactive in seizing opportunities with new clients. Demonstrates the desire and capability and build a platform for growth who drives a proactive sales culture. Monitors progress towards results and drives productivity and performance.
