Communication and Marketing Officer (CMO) for the UK Chapter of the International Coaching Federation

The ICF Vision is that coaching is an integral part of a thriving society and every ICF member represents the highest quality of professional coaching. The ICF mission is to lead the global advancement of the coaching profession. Support members to achieve ICF credentials
Offer opportunities for networking and connecting
It is intended that this role be considered a part-time role comprising an average of 24 hours (3 days) a week. The role will be predominantly home-based, with national travel for quarterly board meetings and other meetings as required. There is a slight chance of International travel on rare occasions. The role will provide the option, to a certain extent, to define your own working hours, provided they coincide and support the working hours of the Operations Officer and Operations Service Providers, with the majority being during “an average working day” of the UK.

The CMO will support existing members and drive the acquisition of new members.
Help ensure that the UK ICF pursues its objectives, applies its resources, and exercises its powers exclusively in pursuit of those aims.
Help ensure that the Board determines the overall direction and development of the UK ICF through good governance and strategic planning.
Support the Engagement Director with crafting and executing the marketing and communications strategy.
Develop content for and use digital channels to increase engagement with and awareness of the UK Chapter, using data and analytics to inform decisions.
Help define and report against agreed marketing and engagement targets.
Lead on commissioning a new website to assist the UK ICF Chapter in delivering value to members, becoming a community space for UK coaches, and being a focal point for advocacy, ensuring we stay preeminent for those seeking information about the profession.

Brand
Contribute to establishing a strong and distinctive brand for the UK ICF Chapter.
Apply brand identity consistently, internally and externally
Source, create or design engaging and brand-consistent photography, imagery, video and collateral for multi-platform use
series invites & social advertising, regular meets (member meets, ethics, credentialing), etc.

Communications
Lead on creating goals, key messages, tone of voice, and appropriate communication channels.
Lead on planning, creating and scheduling chapter series and webinars.
Lead on planning, creating and scheduling content for social media, coordinating with the team on messaging and priorities.
Utilise social media to engage with members, grow networks, develop PR opportunities, and promote the Chapter’s and Global’s content and news to a broader audience.
Support the Board, Group Leaders, and other volunteers in delivering social media content and strategy for regional and special interest groups.
Build and send regular email communications creating appropriate templates, processes and segmenting data as required.
Write and create content for e-newsletters, member e-comms and corporate news in conjunction with the board.
Work with the Engagement Director on writing, editing, commissioning and creating digital content for multi-platform use.
Contribute to day-to-day website management; building and uploading new content, editing and updating existing content, and addressing bug fixes with web developers and Operational delivery teams.

Marketing
Support on planning and delivery of cross-channel marketing for membership recruitment and CIO membership.
Lead on digital marketing components of the above and for events and projects, including paid social.
Manage and attend marketing events as required (trade shows, festivals etc.)
Oversee Google Ads delivery and impact on key marketing goals.

As required, help design and implement special Ad Hoc projects with the Operations Officer.
Create and maintain the media archive, researching and logging online and offline coverage.
Term of Contract
Two years (24 months) and may be extended by the board, working on a part-time basis (3 days a week)
Proven experience in comms and marketing
Experience in managing social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube) for an organisation
Experience of using a content management system, a CRM database, and using mass-emailing tools
Experience in digital marketing
Experience in Digital/Website Builds Project Management
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS): Experience working with various CMS platforms and the ability to customise and optimise them for specific project needs.
# Knowledge of SEO Principles: Understanding of SEO principles and techniques to optimise content and websites for search engine visibility. Knowledge of Google Analytics to analyse website traffic and make informed decisions to improve SEO.
# Digital/Website Builds Project Management Skills: Demonstrated experience in managing digital or website projects and coordinating effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
# Understanding of Web Technologies: Knowledge of web technologies and frameworks essential for digital and website development. An understanding of HTML for effective communication with developers and understanding technical aspects of web projects.
# Understanding of UX/UI Principles and Best Practices: Strong grasp of UX/UI design principles to ensure designs meet usability and accessibility standards.
# Understanding of Design Concepts and Aesthetics: Experience in design fundamentals and aesthetics, with the ability to provide guidance and feedback on visual elements and branding.
# Quality Assurance Experience: Proven experience in QA processes for digital projects, ensuring functionality and performance meet standards.


Ability to take a strategic view while actively also supporting operational delivery
Playing an active role within the UK ICF community as part of a motivated team, shaping and growing professional coaching in the UK
The opportunity to use and further develop existing skills as well as grow new leadership skills and understanding in support of the development of the UK ICF
Training in hosting virtual meetings and webinars
