Operations Director Position at a Highly Respected Main Contractor

Jackson Young is looking for an Operations Director to take a lead role within a highly respected main contractor operating in the central London market. This is a senior appointment and our client is looking for someone with real drive and passion to make a long term impact on the business.

About the Company:

This company is a "go to" business for a high quality, well delivered product, with project values in the £5m - £75m region. It works with blue chip retail, commercial developers, private individuals and cultural institutions, and boasts an interesting and varied portfolio. It spends a lot of time in the right areas... building long term relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and sub contractors, focusing on unlocking the design / getting their schemes set up correctly, and building the strongest teams. It is doing construction right.

Role Overview:

This appointment will be an Operations Director role where you will take project delivery responsibilities across 3 - 4 major schemes from tender to completion and supported by an equivalent commercial management colleague. It is a hands on role and as well as overseeing project delivery you will also be part of the senior leadership team and contribute to business strategy, client development, new market exploration and so on.

Desired Candidate Profile:

They are looking for someone with a track record of helping secure and delivering complicated city centre schemes in a senior role, ideally managing more than one at a time. Their works are all 2 stage D&B, for private clients across commercial, high end retail, super prime, cultural and hotel, so some experience in these sectors will be preferred. A portfolio of projects in the £10m - £50m area will suit best.
