We are looking for a Director of our new Future Mobility Sector to join our MTC Team based in Coventry. The main duties of the Director (Future Mobility) will be to: Develop Sector specific strategy plan in order to maximise the relevance and impact the MTC has in its chosen industry sectors. Drive sustainable sector growth. Oversee the development and maintenance of sector technology roadmaps to ensure alignment between industry sector needs (pull) and MTC capabilities (push). Manage the Sector P&L performance in line with budget and forecast expectations, along with highlighting downside risks / upside opportunities and plans to address them. Provide strategic business development leadership in order to build and sustain key relationships across the sector and clients. Provide effective governance over sector programmes and projects to ensure effective and efficient delivery across all parameters (quality/technical, cost, schedule and customer satisfaction). Ensure effective flow down of objectives across the sector team aligned with the business and sector targets. Provide leadership for the sector team and work with the functional leads to manage performance. To represent the MTC / HVMC on relevant industry sector associations and bodies. Work across the HVMC to coordinate with the other Centres the work we do in the Industry Sectors. Person Specification Given the nature of this role the qualities we seek include: Essential Skills and Competencies: High level Stakeholder Management Strong communicator Strategic planning Risk management Be a natural leader, capable of fitting into a challenging environment with an established team Ability to identify and resolve issues using a strongly analytical approach Excellent decision-making capability, able to manage multiple concurrent tasks and prioritise effectively Motivator and energiser of the team Strategic Business Development Desirable Skills and Competencies: Programme and Project Management A degree (in Business or Engineering) Ability to think innovatively or “out of the box”, identify and resolve issues using a strongly analytical approach and challenge the status quo Essential Experience: Broad experience in business development, operational and programme management and people management.
