The UHDB Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) service has a vacancy for a lead clinical nurse specialist.

The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical leadership for the established IBD teams at our Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Hospital Burton sites and provide support to deliver excellence for patient care. The post holder will inspire a culture of compassionate care for IBD patients. S/he will be accountable for the professional practice and development of IBD nursing and patient care. The post holder will have expert specialist knowledge and provide clinical advice and support for patients with IBD.

Essential criteria

Demonstrable experience as IBD nurse specialist Band 7.

Non- medical prescribing qualification.

NMC registration

Leadership experience

Desirable

Degree level training or relevant experience.

Main duties of the job


  • Develop the IBD service in collaboration with the Lead IBD gastroenterology consultants.
  • Develop and lead the IBD specialist nurse service .
  • Continually promote the patient experience.
  • Promote high standards of care for patients with IBD.
  • Implement practice and service development in line with the Nursing and Midwifery strategy.
