The post holder will provide a central role in the delivery of teaching to medical students during their Oncology Medicine placements.

o This will involve facilitating sessions to allow students to achieve learningoutcomes with the relevant knowledge, skills and attitudes to care for patients with life-limiting diseases and those dying.o Delivery of specialist practice in a patient centred and clinically effective way in line with Trust policies and procedures and national guidelines.o In partnership with the Oncology SIFT lead Consultant, responsible for the development of Medical student education in Oncology Medicine.

Hold current NMC registration: Registered Nurse - Hold a first-level degree (or working towards), and have demonstrable post-registration experience including holding or working towards a post-graduate certificate in education, and demonstrable evidence of experience of working in Cancer care.

Main duties of the job

o Responds and acts to the needs of patients working in conjunction with the Inter Professional Health Care team.o To ensure appropriate and effective use of allocated resources.o Identifies and supports developments in service improvement and redesign, ensuring delivery of a quality service.o To liaise with patients concerning their participation in teaching, and with the medical staff on administrative aspects of their care. Liaise and work alongside clinicians of all levels and professions.
