Vertex Associates are pleased to be partnering with an international Mobile Technology business in hiring a Head of Finance and Operations on a permanent basis.

This is a remote role with their head office based in Switzerland and you will be required to meet with colleagues based in London on a regular basis. They will be looking to acquire a London based office in the near future.

Our Client is a mission-driven company that believes strongly that impact at scale can be had through technology, financial sustainability and business rigour. They have raised over $20M in funding from leading strategic and financial backers.

As Finance and Operations Director, through this multifaceted, hands-on role you will be a partner to the founders and part of the leadership team to take the Business to the next level.

Leveraging your experience of organisational, executional excellence and scaling with a startup you will play a pivotal role in advancing growth targets, as well as strategic positioning, sustainability and financing.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Strategic Initiatives to Instill Growth: Play an integral role in driving growth through strategic initiatives such as designing and implementing processes, working on pricing and positioning and elevating the revenue team
  • Business planning and forecasting: Develop and analyse plans for strategic planning alongside the leaders, board
  • Board and Investors: Lead and oversee in preparation of board and shareholders packs and communication (including management accounts and KPIs)
  • Next capital transaction: Lead alongside founders for the next institutional transaction
  • Metrics: Oversee the teams’ performance metrics and KPIs
  • Oversee Finance: Oversee finance manager, external accountant to collect interpret financial information as well as identify cost optimisation opportunities and drive sustainability

Experience desired:

  • Scaleup or startup background alongside larger organisation's experience is preferred (investment banking or strategy consulting)
  • Operations and finance background, with a horizontal view on the company's operations and performance
  • Min 5-7 years of relevant experience, funding or exit preferred
  • A do-er with analytical skills, international background a must, cross-cultural and can be a generalist
  • We are looking for a personality with a) grit b) empathy c) aptitude
  • Knows what good looks like in finance and operations for a company of our stage
  • Has experience working across cultures and in a global business
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic startup environment
  • Proactive and able to work independently
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A successful track record of owning workstreams and coordinating broad business efforts
