We are seeking a skilled and motivated 2nd Line Engineer to join our clients IT support team in Chester.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working on an IT Helpdesk, preferably within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment. You will be responsible for providing advanced technical support across a wide range of hardware, software, and networking issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide remote technical support and, when necessary, travel to client sites to resolve complex IT issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve a variety of technical problems related to hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, firewalls, security, and proxies.
- Offer expertise in core Microsoft Windows Server and desktop operating systems, Microsoft 365, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to non-technical users.
- Collaborate with the IT support team to ensure seamless service delivery and issue resolution.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
- Continuously update and enhance technical knowledge to stay current with industry developments.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Ideally worked for an MSP or a similar fast-paced environment.
- Good working knowledge of hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, firewalls, security, and proxies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server and desktop operating systems, as well as Microsoft 365, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon into user-friendly language.
- Ability to work independently with a strong sense of initiative and also collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to travel to client sites as needed.
