We are looking for a dynamic nurse to facilitate the patient journey from respiratory ward to discharge and link with internal/external healthcare teams


To work as an advanced practitioner on the NIV unit and effectively deliver expert nursing service within the Respiratory Department.


Complete audit data as required by the service.


To support junior staff through teaching and supervision working clinically with all grades of staff and acting as a role model.


To ensure provision of high-quality nurse led follow up both on the ward and in clinic


Undertake full nursing assessment, implementation and evaluation of patient, and families/carers, to provide specific expert nursing care advice, support and counselling from diagnosis
Co-ordinate investigations and care from commencement of pathway to ensure prompt diagnosis and treatment in line with local policies and guidance. Work closely with the Lung Function Technician to maintain a database for Nebuliser distribution
Work closely with the Community Respiratory Team to coordinate patient care
Collaborate with medical colleagues in ensuring that appropriate investigations including, are requested.
Act as the patients' advocate and provide appropriate information regarding treatment options and/or quality of life issues

Significant post registration experience, at Band 6 or above, in respiratory nursing
