Are you ready to join us in one of the Citys most popular watering holes and pub grub establishments in the heart of Edinburghs Grassmarket? With a vast range of Irish Malts and an extremely busy food operation, coupled with Live Entertainment 7 days a week and a full Sky Sports Package its an all encompassing venue. Food is served from 9am and the venue is licenced until 1am with regular extensions throughout parts of the year. As if this wasnt enough already, Biddys also houses Scotlands smallest pub called the Wee Pub and then for 6 months of the year has an external area with 80 covers, known as the Paddock. The venue revenue is consistently high, as is the profit conversion and is further benefitted from the vast array of events in the Capital City and is a stable favourite with tourists from all over the world.
As a General Manager, you will be an extremely committed and hardworking individual, this venue is no mean feat. You will need knowledge of the Edinburgh trends and marketplace, be able to lead a team of circa 60 employees. Have a passion and experience of managing Live Entertainment, Sport, Tourism trends, high volume food sales and the differentials between early and late-night trade. You must also possess a passion to develop talent that can be promoted within your own venue or to other venues within the company. As well as being able to work at a very high pace. There will be a minimum expectation that you have at least 2 years General Manager experience.

The Boring Bits (But You Need Them)
- Experience: Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred.
- Business Management: Run the business with the passion as though it was your own business whilst engaging with central support functions, internal & external stakeholders and local suppliers.
- Sales: Supporting sales growth.
- Costs: Controlling costs & driving sales growth.
- Leadership Skills: Great leadership skills and enjoy working as part of a team in a social environment.
- Commercial Awareness: Must have a strong commercial awareness and knowledge of the area.
- Flexibility: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Customer Service Skills: A friendly, positive attitude with a passion for providing excellent service.
- Team Player: Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to Detail: Managing service and standards and staff development.
- Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication at all levels.
