The Governing Body of Glasllwch Primary School is seeking to appoint a passionate, enthusiastic and outstanding professional, to assist the newly appointed Head Teacher in leading this highly successful school.

The successful candidate will:

• Be an outstanding classroom practitioner, promoting and modelling exemplary practice, providing exciting, creative and challenging learning opportunities, using technology innovatively
• Demonstrate a passion and a high level skill set for leading outstanding teaching and learning across the school
• Lead and promote excellence, equity and high expectations of behaviour, deploying positive behaviour management strategies effectively and consistently
• Ensure that the wellbeing of all children is central to all that they do and build a relationship of mutual respect with the pupils, parents, staff, wider community and the Governing Body
• Value the strong partnerships that exist with parents, carers and the wider community and further progress these
• Motivate, inspire and generate enthusiasm in a team environment and have a flexible and positive approach to challenge and change
• Have a proven track record of raising standards and of successfully leading whole school initiatives
• Be committed to collaborative working and professional learning, seeking opportunities to develop colleagues and grow our school as a learning organisation
• Show excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
• Own a strong professional learning record and articulate aspirations for headship
• Remain cognisant of internal, local and national policies and initiatives
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Curriculum for Wales and in its progression and assessment
• Bring energy, enthusiasm, positivity and drive, demonstrating the personal and professional qualities this role requires.

Shortlisting due to take place: Thursday 16th May 2024

Lesson observations: 20th – 21st May 2024 - including a tour of the school and an interview with some of our Senedd pupils.

Following this, selected candidates will be invited to formal professional interviews: Wednesday 22nd May 2024, venue tbc – this will include a presentation, tasks and a formal interview.
