St George’s School is expanding

St George’s is a secondary special school on the Isle of Wight providing education for students with severe and complex needs.

In September 2024 we are opening a satellite provision for young people with SEMH needs, St George’s Studio in East Cowes, where we will be embedding trauma informed practice, including the therapeutic classrooms approach

Head of School

Location: based at St. George’s Studio, East Cowes, within commuting distance of the South Coast

Salary: L14-L18

Hours of work: Full-time, 32.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the existing Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher to expand St George’s School through the development of a satellite provision for 20 young people with SEMH needs.

The governing body and senior leadership team are seeking a confident, well organised, motivated individual with leadership experience, alongside experience of supporting young people with SEND and SEMH needs.

The selection process will provide opportunities for candidates to demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills when communicating with all stakeholders.
